OU Band Alumni Association


President

  • Oversees and coordinates the work of the OUBAA executive board

  • Presides at executive board and general membership meetings

  • Serves as the official contact, communicator and representative of a organization

  • Designated as an authorized signer contracts and authorizations for payment

  • Serves as ex-officio member of all committees except the nominating committee

  • Works with other leaders to connect alumni, university and community to support the success of the organization

Vice President

  • Works as the primary aide to the president

  • Helps lead the organization towards specific goals consistent with our purposes and policies

  • Performs president’s duties in his or her absence

  • Carries out other duties outlined in bylaws and standing rules or as assigned

  • Serves as an active participant in each committee organized by the organization

Treasurer

  • Maintains permanent records to track organization funds and financial transactions

  • Chairs budget committee and prepares annual budget for adoption by the general membership

  • Pays all organization bills as authorized by board and/or general membership

  • Prepares reports for every board and general membership meeting and an annual financial report

  • Ensures taxes and reports required by organization bylaws, insurance or federal and state governments are completed and submitted by the due dates

Secretary

  • Takes minutes at board and general membership meetings

  • Post minutes from said meetings within 7 days

  • Handles OUBAA correspondence as directed by the president

  • Maintains and preserves organization records and important documents to pass on at the end of the term

Historian

  • Records annual history of the organization through photos and written documentation

  • Actively seeks historical records of the organization

Officers at Large

  • Assumes responsibility for role as assigned by the president of the organization

  • Leads committees as designated by the president

    • Current committees are as follows

      • Fundraising

        • Responsible for generating positive cash flow for scholarships as well as the OUBAA general fund

      • Communications/Merchandising

        • Responsible for overall appearance of OUBAA communications.

        • Actively seeks merchandising opportunities for the organization

      • Membership

        • Responsible for actively recruiting new membership in the organization.  

        • Seeks out feeback from current members regarding membership opportunities.  

        • Builds a relationship with current Pride members to ease transition into alumni status.

      • Retention

        • Responsible for ensuring members are retained year over year.

        • Works in conjunction with Membership officer on shared focus of increasing membership and value of the organization.
